ARTIST'S STATEMENT

Wherever I am, I have always appreciated the beauty surrounding me: the colors, sounds, smells, and lighting - the sense of place…

I was born in Fayetteville, North Carolina. As an ‘Army Brat,’ my family moved many times as I was growing up, which enhanced my wanderlust for adventure and exploration. I believe travel is essential, and while spending time in Europe, the art, architecture, and variety of artistic expression always inspired me.

After 25 years working in 'Corporate America,' I moved to Carmel, California, in 2008. Here, I discovered a lifelong dream by embracing my inner artist.  I felt privileged to paint with some of the local artists.  I was drawn to explore painting in watercolor, oils, and mixed media such as colorful pastels.  Capturing an emotional response to my environment of people and incredible scenery, my paintings began to take on a life of their own.

My art is a reflection of my love of nature and the beauty and magic that surrounds us. I spent eight wonderful years in Carmel and now live in McKinney, Texas. My favorite paintings and subjects are inspired by nature.

I welcome commissions upon request as I delight in collaborating with clients to create meaningful artwork and keepsakes. I am honored to share my artistic expression and find it gratifying to see the delight a piece can bring to those who appreciate my fine art.

I was privileged to be selected as a ‘Priority Applicant’ and participant in the Carmel Bach Festival Art 2017, 2018, 2019, and 2020.
